Job Overview

Scorpio’s is seeking skilled, professional, and energetic bartenders to join our nightlife team. As a cashless venue accepting only credit and debit cards, bartenders must be comfortable handling electronic transactions efficiently. This role requires providing exceptional customer service in a high-energy nightclub, preparing high-quality cocktails, and maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar.

Bartenders must check IDs when required on nights when a door person is not present, ensuring compliance with age restrictions and responsible alcohol service policies. This is an on-call position, with regular shifts available based on performance, reliability, and operational needs. Some weeknight availability may be required for special events and peak operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Drink Preparation & Service

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages quickly and accurately, following Scorpio’s recipes and standards.
• Maintain expert knowledge of cocktail recipes, house specials, and featured drinks.
• Ensure all beverages meet portion control and presentation standards.
• Handle high-volume service efficiently while maintaining quality and speed.
• Monitor guest alcohol consumption and adhere to responsible service policies, cutting off patrons when necessary.

Customer Service & Guest Experience

• Greet guests warmly and engage in friendly, professional interactions.
• Provide recommendations based on guest preferences and upsell premium spirits, shots, and bottle service.
• Ensure guests have an enjoyable experience while maintaining an energetic yet professional attitude.
• Handle customer concerns and resolve minor issues while escalating larger concerns to management when necessary.

Cashless Transactions & ID Verification

• Process credit and debit card payments quickly and accurately using the venue’s POS system (Scorpio’s is a cashless venue).
• Handle tips appropriately and follow house tip-out procedures.
• Check IDs and verify legal drinking age on nights when a door person is not scheduled.
• Refuse service to underage guests and report any fraudulent IDs or suspicious behavior to management.

Bar Maintenance & Organization

• Keep the bar area clean, stocked, and organized throughout the night.
• Ensure all liquor, mixers, garnishes, and supplies are replenished as needed.
• Properly set up and break down the bar before and after each shift.
• Follow sanitation and health guidelines, including proper glassware handling, handwashing, and waste disposal.
• Assist with weekly inventory checks and report low-stock items to management.

Compliance & Safety

• Follow all alcohol service laws and responsible serving guidelines.
• Be aware of customer behavior, recognizing signs of over-intoxication, and taking appropriate action.
• Work closely with security and management to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
• Adhere to all venue safety policies and emergency procedures.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old and legally permitted to serve alcohol.
• Previous bartending experience in a nightclub, bar, or high-volume service environment preferred.
• Availability to work Friday and Saturday nights until 3 AM is required, with occasional weeknight availability as needed.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy nightclub environment.
• Strong multitasking and time-management skills.
• Outgoing, personable, and professional demeanor.
• Must maintain a clean and professional appearance while following venue dress code.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a loud environment.
• Must be punctual, reliable, and able to work on an on-call basis, with potential for regular shifts based on performance.

Work Hours

• Fridays & Saturdays: Primary shifts from 7 PM – 3 AM (setup and breakdown included).
• Additional shifts on weeknights may be required for special events and peak nights.
