Job Title: Front Door Staff
Position Type: Part-Time Hourly
Schedule: Primarily Friday & Saturday nights, with occasional weekday shifts

Job Overview

Scorpio’s is hiring front door staff who are friendly, confident, and ready to be the first face every guest sees. You are our front line—not just for safety and compliance, but for setting the tone of the night. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in greeting others, knows how to balance warmth with authority, and understands how important the entry experience is in nightlife.

Whether you’re scanning IDs, handling guest questions, or identifying when someone shouldn’t enter, you’re essential to keeping the vibe of Scorpio’s welcoming, safe, and unforgettable.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet every guest with energy, eye contact, and a warm welcome—they should feel like they’re being welcomed into a home, not just a club.
• Scan IDs using our digital ID system and visually verify each is valid, unexpired, and matches the person.
• Check wristbands, stamps, and online ticketing lists to ensure guests have proper access.
• Collect cover charges and handle payments at the door when needed.
• Identify intoxicated, aggressive, or otherwise unfit individuals and professionally deny entry when appropriate, following venue safety standards.
• Control lines and flow of entry to avoid overcrowding and to ensure guest experience and safety.
• Relay rules and expectations to guests clearly—such as no outside drinks, re-entry policies, or dress code reminders.
• Report any suspicious or problematic behavior to security or management.
• Work closely with security and management to uphold venue policies and protect the safety of all guests and staff.
• Keep your area clean and organized, including entry doors and podiums.
• Provide excellent customer service while remaining firm, professional, and alert at all times.

Requirements

• Friendly and assertive personality with excellent verbal communication.
• Ability to handle conflict calmly and professionally.
• Comfortable being outdoors or on your feet for extended periods.
• Available late nights and weekends, typically from 9 PM–2:30 AM.
• Must be punctual, reliable, and sober on the job.
• Ability to work well with a team in high-energy, fast-paced environments.
• Experience in nightlife, hospitality, or customer service preferred—but not required.
• Must be 21+ with a valid ID of your own.
• Willing to be trained in ID scanning, crowd management, and safety procedures.
